Description Technical Specs Manual

With a maximum output of 105,000 BTU's per hour, the DAKA 521FB furnace will heat most medium-to-large size homes found in climates such as those in northern Minnesota. Completely made of heavy-duty 7-gauge steel (3/16" thick), the firebrick-lined firebox is designed to give years of trouble free service. Manufactured in the USA for over 30 years, DAKA furnaces are built with a few simple things in mind: BUILD THEM SIMPLE TO USE AND BUILD THEM TO LAST. The user-friendly automatic damper control is the key feature that separates the DAKA furnace from all other wood-burning stoves and many other furnaces. The auto damper utilizes a bi-metallic thermo spring that controls the air source to the fire. With this controlled air source and the airtight firebox design, burn times may be extended up to 8 hours. Other benefits of this design are that the heat output is more consistent throughout the entire burn, compared to that which you would receive with a manual damper. Manual dampers have a tendency to burn fast and out of control. Out-of-control burning leads to short burn times and over-heated room temperatures. The standard 550-cfm blower has a 1/10 hp rating, heavy-duty windings and is self-lubricating. It will handle most add-on installation applications and many smaller central installations. The blower has twice the horsepower of many of our competitor's blowers, meaning that it will not lose output when hooked into a ductwork system. Also, one single blower costs less to maintain and operate. With a 22" log capacity and an 11" x 11" fire door opening, the 521FB is big enough to heat up to a 2,600 square foot home. A cast iron fire door, along with a heavy duty grate, is standard. A full-length ash pan with built-in handle makes ash disposal easy. The unit is safety-tested to "UL standard 391" by Warnock Hersey. A single cold air filter box that mounts directly over the blower on the back of the furnace is included with all new DAKA 521FB's. This filter box helps reduce dust in the home and greatly extends the life of the blower (14x20x1 filter not included).

5 of 5 best bang for the buck! February 10, 2016
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from millerstown, PA United States
This is my first full winter running it and couldn't be happier! It can be a wood hog but thus far have consumed about what I estimated for the heating season per month. I have had over 13 hours of burn time a few times, low wind days. Higher wind days I'm lucky to get 8 hours. Only time I will let the fire die out is chimney cleaning time! It has effectively put our oil boiler out of service based on heat output alone!

5 of 5 One Great Furnace! December 6, 2013
Reviewer: Joel Campbell from Cando, ND United States
This is my third winter heating my home with the Daka 521 wood burning furnace, and I couldn't be happier.

The Daka furnace has far exceeded my expectations.

I'm located in northeastern North Dakota, where the winter temps get as low as -40 degrees F.

The Daka has all but replaced my propane furnace.  The electrical breaker to my water heater is flipped off.  The Daka provides every bit of hot water that my wife and I could possibly use each day.

15 days of labor dedicated to harvesting firewood has cut my heating bill by several thousand dollars per winter.

Our propane furnace is now used only for those weekends when my wife and I decide to travel.  My average propane usage has dropped to less than 200 gallons per year.

Daka has provided my wife with the warmest home she's ever had.......and that makes me happy!

I highly recommend this furnace to anyone who might be considering one.
